Acquisitions since January 1, 2010.

Updated 26 November 2010.

This listing follows from Additions, posted in the previous year. I choose to cite them as a public glimpse at my ongoing interests as well as keeping a brief record for management purposes. Acquisitions are the business record of library additions. Accordingly, each following citation carries only enough information to identify the title and is not bibliographically complete.

Data includes limited elements: date of acquisition & source, a distinguishing accession number, abbreviated author, brief title; edition if distinctive; price. Accession numbers may appear out of sequence when numbers are inadvertently skipped or reused from discovered duplicates or reused for replacement copies, noted by an “r” suffix.

Note on sources:
>Anderson Center for Interdisciplinary Studies occupies the A. P. Anderson property in Red Wing MN, supported by the Anderson Family Foundation and Anderson Center members for the promotion of the arts and humanities through a variety of activities including publication.
>Annadee's Closet is a charitable thrift store in Red Wing, MN with recently expanded space, including for books.
>B&N [place] is the big box chain book store where some outlets also carry used books. The Roseville location carries used books.
>Best of Times is an independent bookstore in Red Wing, MN.
>Beverly Voldseth, the Minnesota poet, is a friend of mine. We meet monthly to read Poetry magazine aloud.
>Book Vault is an independent bookstore in Stratford, ONT that sells an increasing number of remainders.
>Books, Toledo OH is a used book dealer with items ordered through Amazon.
>Books Revisited, new to me, has two outlets in Saint Cloud, MN for used books - downtown on Germaine and at the Crossroads Mall.
>Borders Books [place] is an outlet of that chain big box store.
>Dollar Tree [place] is an outlet in the chain of discount stores that incidentally carry a few books.
>Fanfare Books is another independent book store in Stratford, featuring literture with also an increasing number of remainders.
>Faith Group is the discussion group composed of six couples who gather about bi-monthly to explore matters of faith, often based on a particular reading.
>Friends of the RWPL is the Friends of the Red Wing Public Library as the producer.
>Friends: Stillwater PL is the range of used books, operated by the Friends in the Stillwater (MN) Public Library.
>Goodwill [place] designates the thrift store in various locations that sell used books.
>HP Bks [place] stands for Half Price Books, the used and discounted remainder chain.
>History BkC designates the History Book Club that covers a wide range of historical subjects in of largely hardbound releases, most too expensive for me.
>Jamie Lorentzen is a lover of literature and teacher of English and Humanities at Red Wing High School, constant in his attention to Kierkegaard studies.
>LBJ National Park is the Lyndon Baines Johnson National Park Gift Store, Johnson City, TX.
>Literary Guild, the book club where I find it very difficult to find anything literary.
>Luther Seminary Book Store, St. Paul, is one of the seminaries of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, also affiliated with Augusburg Fortress Press, with a bountiful supply of related publications at attractive discount prices.
>MHS Book Store, operated by the Minnesota Historical Society out of the Minnesota History Center, St. Paul.
>Midway Books at the busiest St. Paul corner - Snelling and University - is a large used book store with sizeable fiction and poetry sections among its offerings.
>Milwaukee Public Museum contains a gift shop that sells items related to its exhibits.
>Monkey See, Monkey Read in Northfield MN is a used book store that also carries remainers, some best sellers and makes special orders.
>Northern Lights Books is a highly selective quality independent store in Duluth with strength in Minnesota and the Arrowhead region, literature, feminism, and items for teen and younger readers. Something is always on sale.
>QPBC stands for the Quality Paperback Book Club.
>Robert E. Hanson is a friend since 3rd grade who not only shares a common past but also interests in ecumenism and interfaith engagement, justice, and poetry.
>SA [place] stands for the Salvation Army Store with a mish-mash of used books.
>St. V. de P. is a thrift store in St. Paul with a generous religion collection, though most of it is devotional and sectarian.
>Savers [place] is another thrift store, the ones I know with a fairly large collection of used books in less than perfect order.
>SELCO is the Minnesota regional library system, Southeast Libraries Cooperating.
>SFBC stands for Science Fiction Book Club.
>6th Chamber is the Sixth Chamber Used Book Store on Grand in St. Paul, my favorite used book dealer.
>StCAB is the St. Cloud Area Branch of the American Association of University Women that holds sales of previously owned books in excellent condition as a fund raiser for AAUW.
>StOBk is the store at Saint Olaf College that sells, among other things, books, including remainders and used texts.
>White Sands is the Gift Shop at the White Sands National Monument, New Mexico.
